Paul McCartney’s Lookalike Grandson Has Been Spotted With The Daughter Of A Huge Hollywood Star

Look at a picture of Arthur Donald, because you might need to do a double-take. That’s because he looks just like his famous grandfather – Sir Paul McCartney – back when the Beatles heartthrob was in his youth. But it gets even more crazy, because Arthur was spotted getting close to another famous youngster. And the latter is a lookalike of her own celebrity parent, too!

Arthur was born to parents Mary McCartney and Alistair Donald in April 1999. He was Paul’s first grandchild and has grown up seemingly with all the trappings his famous family has afforded him. For instance, he reportedly attended a $27,000-a-year independent school in north London.

Since then, Arthur has flown the McCartney nest to take up a spot at Yale. But his resemblance to and relationship with his grandfather has occasionally brought him into the public eye. And Arthur piqued our interest again when he was spotted on a rendevous with the daughter of a major Hollywood movie star.

But what about Arthur’s grandfather? Well, for many, Paul McCartney is primarily known as a Beatle and one of the most influential singers of all time. His work with the band is credited with changing pop music forever, and in 2009 Guinness World Records cited him as the “most successful songwriter.” Though to his closest relatives, the legendary musician is simply “dad” or “grandad.”

Paul’s venture into fatherhood began in 1967 when he met the American photographer Linda Eastman. At the time, he was riding the wave of “Beatlemania” as part of the world’s biggest pop group. She, meanwhile, was an up-and-coming photographer and had a daughter called Heather from her previous marriage to Melville See.

Linda and Paul ultimately married one rainy day two years later at the Marylebone registry office – breaking thousands of lovesick teenagers’ hearts in the process! The Beatles frontman soon formally adopted his wife’s daughter Heather. And the couple went on to welcome their first biological child together – Mary – in 1969.

Mary’s birth was followed by those of third daughter Stella in 1971, and their only son James, who came six years later. Paul, Linda and their family famously went to live on a farm near Scotland’s Mull of Kintyre. There, the brood could live a more peaceful life – away from the spotlight and closer to nature.

In 2019 Paul told BBC Scotland News that the main draw of their Scottish escape was “freedom.” There, the whole family had space to explore and spent lots of time being close to nature. It was also the place that the McCartney’s formed their moral stance about eating meat – leading them to become the U.K’s most famous vegetarian family.

But when was the moment that the couple decided to forgo meat? Well, Paul has explained on several occasions that the decision came one day when he and Linda were eating a roast dinner at their farm and watching lambs frolocking outside. In 2010 he told The Guardian, “It was like, the penny dropped. The light bulb lit up. We thought, ‘We might just give this up.’”

Only 0.5 percent of people in the U.K. were vegetarian at that time, according to Tatler Thailand. So, Paul and Linda decided not to force the lifestyle choice on their kids. In 2019 Mary told the publication, “My mom and dad sat us down and said to us, ‘We’ve made a decision that we’re going to become vegetarian. It’s your decision if you want to eat meat when you’re out, but we won’t be cooking meat in the house.’”

Though Paul was a bit cheeky on one occasion! He told The Guardian that his kids were allowed to try chicken on holiday once. But they weren’t keen – especially after Paul reminded them that they were the kind of same animals the children had at home. And the now-grown-up kids have since engaged with the vegetarian cause. Fashion designer Stella is known for her stance of not using leather or fur in her collections. Mary, meanwhile, has followed in the footsteps of her mother to become a photographer and vegetarian activist.

Tragically, Linda passed away at the age of 56 from breast cancer in 1998. Though Mary and her siblings decided to continue their mom’s eponymous vegetarian food company. Today, it’s one of the highest-earning meat-substitute brands on the planet, with yearly sales of $36.8 million, according to Thailand Tatler.

Mary and Stella aren’t the only of Paul’s kids to pursue creative ventures, though. Just like his famous dad, James is a singer-songwriter and has even worked on some of the former Beatles frontman’s albums. And Heather, for her part, is a prominent potter. So, it’s safe to say that they’ve all enjoyed successes of their own.

With his eldest children living their own lives, Paul remarried the former model Heather Mills in 2002. A year later the couple had a child called Beatrice, though they ended up splitting in 2006. The “Let It Be” singer then walked down the aisle once more in 2011 – this time tying the knot with the American businesswoman Nancy Shevell.

So, with five children, Paul’s brood is substantial. And if that was not enough, the rock and roll legend also has a total of eight grandkids! Mary has four children named Arthur, Elliot, Sid and Sam, as does Stella, who is mom to Miller, Bailey, Beckett, and Reiley. And in 2019 – while promoting his children’s book Hey Grandude! – Paul opened up about his life as a grandfather.

Paul first revealed the inspiration behind the title of his children’s book during an interview with BBC News that year. He said, “One of my grandkids – who used to call me ‘Grandad’ – just happened one day to say ‘Grandude’ and it kind of stuck. So the other kids started calling me ‘Grandude.’” That being said, he added, “Grandude isn’t supposed to be me because he’s magic and I’m not!”

There are, though, some things that Paul and his children’s character have in common. For instance, they’ve both been known to entertain their grandkids with a tune. Recalling singing the Beatles classic “Blackbird” to two of them one night, the star revealed, “They were like, ‘That’s nice.’ It’s not like some famous guy doing ‘Blackbird.’ It’s just Grandad.”

But it wasn’t long before Paul’s grandkids noticed their grandfather’s astronomical fame. Early on in their lives, they’d often see fans come up and ask for selfies and autographs. And the grandchildren have naturally been to his gigs, too. Paul told BBC News, “I sometimes will say to the audience, ‘My grandkids are here.’ It’s crazy for them. They’ve got this grandad up on stage rocking out!”

Talking to BBC News, Paul said that all of his grandchildren were passionate about music and knew how to “hold a tune.” Though he added that it was “up to them” if they decided to take after their grandad. The singer explained, “Following me – for a McCartney kid – it’s not that easy. So, I don’t push them into it or even encourage them to do it for a living. But just for pleasure, I do encourage it.”

Paul’s eldest grandchild is Arthur Donald – Mary’s firstborn. And in recent years, he has experienced the limelight for himself. In 2017 the Daily Mail revealed that after leaving his private school in London, the then-teenager had secured a place at the Ivy League college Yale.

The reputation of Yale needs no explanation, of course. The educational institution has produced a total of five U.S. presidents including the two Bushes. For his part, Paul was reportedly on hand to help Arthur settle in on campus, and students even tweeted that they had spotted the star on site!

A few months after Arthur enrolled at Yale, he was pictured at a film screening alongside Paul. And as you could imagine by looking at a picture of them together, a lot was made over Arthur’s similarities to his grandfather. In particular, the pair look very similar around the eyes and lips. And just like a young Paul, the teen sported dark, coiffed hair and exuded the same kind of laidback-cool that his forefather had helped to invent in the swinging ’60s.

But it would seem that Paul and the other McCartneys aren’t Arthur’s only famous connections. That’s because around the same time he attended the film screening with his grandfather, the youngster was photographed out and about with another celebrity child: Ava Phillippe.

Ava is, of course, the daughter of actors Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe. And just like Arthur, she’s been unable to escape the media’s comparisons between herself and her famous relatives. In particular, it’s often pointed out just how much Ava resembles her movie star mom.

Lots of fans have commented on how much Reese’s daughter looks like her. Apparently, Ava was even mistaken for her famous mom at the Hollywood premiere of Big Little Lies in 2017. Reese later told E! News, “People come up to her [all the time]. We were at a premiere and they congratulated her on her performance. She’s like, ‘I’m not in the movie.’”

Despite Ava’s movie-star looks, Reese revealed that her daughter had no intentions of following in the footsteps of her famous mom and dad. That being said, the actress told E! News that the youngster was “very supportive.” She added, “I love that she’s here to help me.”

So, Ava appears to have no desire to be an actress like her mom, but the media interest in her life continues anyway. At one point, Reese had to rebuff a question about her daughter’s Valentine’s plans, insisting, “You have to ask her! I don’t know! You’d have to ask her. I’m not going to get into her personal business with E! News!”

And there was further speculation into Ava’s love life when she was spotted out and about with Arthur in 2018. The two teenagers were seen walking through London’s swanky Mayfair neighborhood. They looked perfectly happy in each other’s company as they were pictured smiling and chatting while strolling down the street.

The two brushed up well, too. Both Arthur and Ava looked casual yet stylish as they wrapped up against the British winter. He wore a gray jacket and black skinny jeans combo, with a pair of chunky white trainers. For her part, Ava donned a plain white T, form-fitting dark jeans, high-heeled boots and finished her look with a tartan coat and an over-the-shoulder bag.

MailOnline reported that Arthur and Ava had been spotted making their way to the celebrity hangout Sketch. The colorful restaurant is somewhat of an Instagram favorite – known for its quirky 1970s-inspired decor and bright pink interior. The trendy eatery has hosted the likes of Kendall Jenner, Elton John and Taylor Swift in the past. So, it’s little wonder the youngsters chose it for their rendezvous.

TMZ reported that Arthur and Ava also dropped in to a bar for refreshments. It’s worth remembering that though such an excursion might have broken the law in the U.S., the drinking age in the U.K. is 18. Therefore, they were perfectly within their rights to stop for a tipple!

It’s not clear what the nature of Arthur and Ava’s meeting was. Were they just friends, or something more? But it’s probably safe to say that the pair have a lot in common! For one thing, they both have famous lookalike relatives. But they were also attending – or planning to attend – top universities in the U.S. For reference, Ava enrolled at Berkeley in the fall of 2018.

Prior to Ava going off to college, her mom Reese told Entertainment Tonight how the seperation would affect her. She explained in 2017, “She’s my best friend and we do everything together, it’s going to be hard for her to leave! I alternate between crying and feeling really proud of the woman she’s become. It’s so weird. She’s great, and we did it together. I feel like we grew up together, it’s great.”

Both teens had actually supported their famous relatives at different events during that week they were pictured together. As we’ve covered, Arthur had been at his grandad Paul’s side at the screening of My Generation. And Ava was seemingly in town to attend mom Reese’s A Wrinkle In Time premiere.

Arthur and Ava have made subsequent appearances in the media, though it’s not clear if they were spotted together ever again. Later in 2018 Arthur was pictured watching tennis at Wimbledon’s Centre Court alongside his mom Mary. Dressed smartly in a cream jacket, the similarity between the teen and his grandfather was once again clear to see.

Ava, for her part, hit headlines once more after she finally flew the nest for Berkeley. Her mom Reese revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2019, “It’s weird when your children go away to college. It’s hard… I might have gone into her empty room, laid down on her bed and cried when she went to college.”

So, clearly Reese struggled with her daughter’s absence. But how did her daughter fare with university life? Well, she appeared to thrive off her newfound freedom. She even teamed up with Amazon on its Off to College campaign. As part of the promotion, Reese also showed off the stylish dorm room she now called home.

Ava also finally put any speculation of a romance with Arthur to rest. Yes, she found love with new beau Owen Mahoney at college. And the new relationship once again put Ava in the spotlight. But some of the attention the new couple attracted was a little bit awkward – to say the least.

After Ava posted a picture of her and Owen online in 2019, some fans couldn’t help but notice that her boyfriend bared a resemblance to her dad Ryan. One such comment read, “... Wow, I just had flashbacks to the ’90s of Ryan and Reese at first glance. They were a great looking couple though and you guys are, too!”

Ava didn’t seem to agree that Owen resembled her famous dad, though. One user wrote to assure the youngster, “He does not look like your dad,” and the student seemingly agreed. Showing her appreciation for the supportive message, Ava simply wrote, “Big [thanks].”
